NEWARK, N.Y. -- May 20, 2004 -- Ultralife Batteries (NASDAQ: ULBI), a leading designer and manufacturer of long lasting, high-energy batteries and power sources for military, commercial and consumer markets, today introduced a new Thin Cell® battery capable of powering the next-generation of portable electronic medical devices. The U10004 Thin Cell, with a wafer thin 5 mm thickness, has a nominal voltage of 3 Volts and a capacity of 1.5 Ahrs. As with all Ultralife non-rechargeable Lithium-Manganese Dioxide Thin Cell batteries, it has a very small footprint, high energy density, a wide operating temperature range, long shelf life, and is extremely lightweight.
John D. Kavazanjian, Ultralife's president and chief executive officer said, "Our Thin Cells benefit product designers by allowing them to fill virtually any battery cavity with a power source capable of handling the increased demands of today’s portable electronic devices. As next-generation portable electronics become smaller and lighter while increasing capability, power sources need to keep pace. Ultralife’s Thin Cell product line is ideally situated to capture market share as this trend continues to proliferate through every industry."
Ultralife Thin Cell batteries are ideal for other applications such as: "smart" security cards, flat-profile wireless asset tracking tags, bank theft tracking systems, electronic record tracking systems and other applications needing a thin, lightweight, high-energy power source.
The U10004 3V size Thin Cell is available immediately.
